RoomAware the first smart home occupancy sensor enabling automation based on who’s in the room
RoomAware counts when somebody enters or exits a room and allows you to create custom automation depending on who and how many people are in the room.
Choose from pre-programed rules or create your own. RoomAware will allow your smart home to cater to you and others by taking different actions depending on how many people are in a room.
By keeping track of how many people are in a room you can have your home automation cater to you while not disturbing others.
Effortless Automation: No Motion Required
Unlike existing solutions, the RoomAware keeps track when somebody enters or exits a room. No more waving your hands to trigger a motion sensor, don’t worry about triggering bright lights when you walk into a room when someone is sleeping either, no line of sight sensors mounted in the middle of your rooms, RoomAware has that all factored in. This brings capabilities to home automation that never existed before.

What Makes This Special
RoomAware
✓ Count people as they enter or exit a room
✓ Monitors doorway. Does not require line of sight of entire room
✓ Set up in seconds and choose an ignore zone (if you want to detect pets, children, robot vacuums, etc)
✓ APIs and MQTT integration
✓ Cloud enhanced, but not required

Motion and mmWave
- Guesses a room is occupied if there is movement detected.
- Doesn’t report number of people in a room, just if occupied or not.
- Not easy to automate around others, can’t identify specific people.
- Technology is known for false positives and being triggered by pets, plants, other objects
- Placement requires line of sight between people and sensor
Can your Smart Home do this?
Out of the box RoomAware brings you the capabilities you always wanted without needing a degree in computer science:
Turn lights on when you empty an empty room, or only a nightlight if somebody is already int he room with the lights off sleeping.
Have your music follow you around the house as you walk room to room.
Flash the lights when somebody else enters a noisy room so you know they are there.
Arm your home security system automatically when everybody leaves the house.
Disarm security cameras when an authorized person is in a room.
Receive an alert if there are more people in your home than you intended when you are traveling.
Have your smart thermostat heat and cool based on which rooms are occupied.
Choose for events to happen instantaneously, delayed, or temporarily.
Read and automation for room conditions without additional sensors.
Custom automation events depending on who’s in the room.
How it works
The Smart Home Occupancy Sensor detects when somebody enters or exits a room. Once the sensor detects somebody entering a room, it relays a message to its hub. The hub factors in how many people are in the room, time of day, if the room is dark and uses all this information to follow your customized preferences.
Use one hub to support all the sensors installed around your home. Connecting a new sensor takes seconds. From there configure your sensor using the Smart Home Occupancy App, choosing from recommended automations, or customize and create your own. While the possibilities are limitless, setup and install is a breeze and you quickly forget about the devices doing everything for you behind the scenes.
